Winter Hair Don't Care!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful- no really it’s scary out there, and cold, and dark….In addition to ruining plans, skin and diets- the weather can also wreak havoc on your hair. That's why I've teamed up with three products to combat the cold and keep things simple while everything else, such as staying warm and driving, have become so very hard.

I LOVE two-in-one items, for the same reason everyone does: more value and less travel space required. When VO5 first sent over their new Innovative Beauty Oil for Hair and Body, I had an oversight when first testing the product. After spritzing my dry little strands, I looked at the bottle and noticed the “post-shower body oil” portion! This makes V05 Beauty Oil the perfect winter weapon that will hydrate your hair and skin in one bottle! I would have jumped for joy—except the ground was covered in post shower water so it would have been a little dangerous.

Tip: DO NOT overuse this product on your hair. I was a little heavy handed while getting ready for dinner one night and wound up with a greasy mess…this was extremely counterproductive for someone who just got out of the shower, now looking like someone who has never seen a shower. The best way to use the product is just spay a little on your comb and then move it through your hair. A little goes a long way here.

I've always been an advocate for dry shampoos, as long as they are used responsibly. Meaning two things: One you need to wash your hair routinely for real and two you can't just pray this on your hair and walk out the door. Do this and will look like you got ready in a blizzard. The key to a successful dry shampoo is not only minimizing oil in your hair but providing volume. Umberto Beverly Hills, dry shampoo checks both of these boxes and is a must-have tool this winter when you can’t wash your hair as often due to dryness and frizz. Not to mention how many times are you left with no time in the morning since you spent most of it building up the courage to get out from under the covers?  I also have to share that my friend came  over to get ready before heading out and borrowed the bottle. She was shocked at the difference it made for her and told me nothing else ever works on her hair. For $12.99  you can' t go wrong checking this out for yourself.

Tip: Lift hair and spray under the visible section onto your scalp. Then tease the section  a little with your fingers while still holding the visible area away. Then lay the section back down and repeat throughout your hair. This will minimize the power residue that shows and provide additional volume. Best results will actually come if you use the shampoo at night and sleep on your hair. This lets the powder soak up oils overnight and leaves you with a fresh look in the a.m.

With all the dryness and frizz from the cold, hair starts to become unruly and difficult to style. This is where the old school “sock bun” comes in handy. Instead of a sock hit your closest Target and look  at Hot Buns. The product comes in both blonde and brunette version  with  both small and large versions in each pack. I've shared a simple way to use this product and pull hair up to head out and brave the cold in style. Click here to see a video!
